從前有一只小馬，來到一條河邊，要過河。但他不知道河水有多深，于是他去問小象河水深不深，小象說：河水很淺，我淌著就過去了。小馬又去問小羊河水深不深，小羊說：河水很深，千萬別去，上次差點(diǎn)把我沖走。最后小馬自己去過了一下河，才發(fā)現(xiàn)，河水不深不淺，他正好可以渡過河去。
